Wolf Minerals to revive Hemerdon project

Australian junior Wolf Minerals has acquired the Hemerdon tungsten-tin deposit in Devon, UK and plans to re-activate the project. Wolf has been negotiating the acquisition since June, during which time trading in its shares on the Australian Stock Exchange have been voluntarily suspended pending an announcement. Trading resumed today, with Wolf shares closing at A$2.53, up from $1.33 at the time of the suspension in June and giving the company a market capitalisation of A$59 million.

New capex and reserve estimates for Pirquitas project

Silver Standard Resources Inc has published new figures on its Pirquitas silver-tin-zinc project in Argentina, following the revision of a previous feasibility study. Capital costs of the project are now estimated at US$220 million, substantially greater than the previous figure of $146.1 million based on 2005 input costs. “A significant portion of the increase in capital cost is a result of increased costs in global construction materials and inflation pressures in Argentina, particularly labour,” Silver Standard said in a statement....
