Network Leader: Sustainability
Kay Nimmo graduated from the University of Birmingham, England with a BSc in Metallurgy and Materials Science and joined the metallurgy department of the Cookson Technology Centre.
Kay joined ITRI in 1995 as Manager of the Solder and Metallurgy Group with responsibility for the development of innovative applications for tin metal. She was presented with a Special Recognition Award by the IPC in 1999 for her involvement in lead-free electronic soldering development. In 2001 Kay became Environmental Affairs Manager at ITRI with responsibilities covering many legislative, environmental and toxicological matters surrounding the support of tin as a sustainable metal for the future.
Kay is currently responsible for the ITRI Sustainability programme.
