Renison production dips slightly in Q2

Post By: Tom Mulqueen on Wednesday, 02 August 2017

Tin-in-concentrate production from the Renison tin mine in Tasmania totalled 1,703 tonnes in Q2, down 4.7% compared to the first quarter of 2017, primarily as a result of a scheduled processing plant shutdown, according to Metals X's latest quarterly report.

While falling on a quarter-on-quarter basis, production was up 48% compared to Q2 2016, largely due to the transition to owner-operator mining last year. Production over the first half of the year totalled 3,486 tonnes, up 23% from 2016,...

In its latest quarterly report, Metals X reported Q1 tin-in-concentrate production from the Renison Mine in Tasmania remained broadly flat at 1,783 tonnes, up just 1% from the previous quarter. While production is currently steady, progress was reported on both the ore sorting and tailing reprocessing projects during the quarter.

Mined ore grades remain stable at 1.28%, while tin recoveries continue to improve, rising to 75.7% in Q1 from 72.3% in Q4. All-in Costs rose by 2.7% to A$18,992...

Renison output down in 2016

Post By: Tom Mulqueen on Monday, 13 February 2017

Metals X released its final quarterly report for 2016 in January, which reveals a 2.9% QOQ increase in tin-in-concentrate production to 1,768 tonnes from the Renison tin mine in Tasmania. However, the output for 2016 totalled 6,314 tonnes, down 7.4% from the previous year.

The company cited that the boost in Q4 production was a result of higher Australian dollar tin prices and lower cost profile after the transition to owner operator earlier this year. Meanwhile grades, recoveries and tonnes mined and...

Metals X reported positive Q3 results from its 50% owned Renison tin mine in Tasmania earlier today, with a strong increase in production to 1,718 tonnes of tin-in-concentrate and a significant reduction in operating costs.

Tin production rose 49% compared to Q2 and 4.5% compared to the same period of 2015, bringing total tin production for the calendar-year-to-date to 4,546 tonnes. Ore mined totalled 199,023t and plant throughput totalled 188,631t in Q3, both were new records for the operation....

Renison shareholder reports production recovery in August

Post By: Tom Mulqueen on Tuesday, 13 September 2016

Unaudited tin-in-concentrate production at the Renison mine in Tasmania in January-August 2016 fell by 9.7% year-on-year to 3,941 tonnes, according to shareholder, L'sea Resources International. However, production in August was reported at 651 tonnes, up 48.2% compared to August 2015.

Production from Renison continues its recovery from the low levels reported in April (335 tonnes), May (372 tonnes), June (445 tonnes) and July (461 tonnes). The dip in production during Q2 was primarily a result of a changeover from...

Metals X reports planned lower production in Q1 2015

Post By: Tom Mulqueen on Monday, 27 April 2015

Australian tin producer, Metals X, has reported reduced production at its 50%-owned Renison mine in Tasmania of 1,578 tonnes of tin in Q1 2015, down 19% on final quarter of 2014.

Production fell due to lower throughput and head grades of 156,642 tonnes of ore at 1.43%Sn, from 166,065 tonnes at 1.68% Sn the previous quarter. This occurred due to delayed production from a higher grade, narrow vein area of the mine, for which a future bulk mining...

Metals X diversifies as Renison tin production set to expand

Post By: Peter Kettle on Tuesday, 15 May 2012

Metals X, which has a 50% stake in the Renison tin mine, is planning to diversify its portfolio by merging with Westgold Resources. Renison is Australia's only significant tin mine, and is poised to expand production to 7,000 – 8,000 tpy of tin-in-concentrate. The planned merger will add Westgold's Central Murchison gold project and the Rover 1 copper-gold project to assets which already include Renison, the Rentails tin tailings project and the Wingellina nickel project.

Renison grades fall, costs rise

Post By: Peter Kettle on Wednesday, 01 February 2012

Metals X reported a further fall in production from its joint-venture Renison tin operations in Tasmania in the December quarter, with a decline in ore grades pushing up operating costs per tonne of contained tin. Tin-in-concentrate production in the three months was 1,186 tonnes, 5% lower than in the previous quarter, with operating costs rising to A$19,541/tonne (US$20,857/t at current exchange rate). The average grade of ore treated by the concentrator was 1.34% tin, down from 1.60% in the...
