Tin beyond the recession

ITRI Tin Annual Review 2009

A detailed report by the world authority on tin, available now

For decades the tin market has moved from one crisis to another, and the current world recession is now raising new challenges for all stakeholders in the industry. In the short-term the market is again oversupplied, but in a few years the situation could change dramatically. This new report analyses the impact of the global economic crisis on tin usage, production and investment in new mine projects and forecasts prices to 2013 in various scenarios.

This second major study by ITRI is based on our ongoing statistical work and network of contacts with tin producers and consumers. It draws heavily on primary sources, including data gathered from new field research in tin producing countries and a very large direct sample survey of major consumers. It is produced by a team with many decades of experience in tin market analysis and applications technology.

The service is available in both hard copy and electronic format, with all statistics provided in Excel spreadsheets and charts in PowerPoint. The authors are available to present and discuss the work to subscribers.

New and improved features this year:

• More tabulation of data makes the report easier to use
• More comprehensive and up-to-date consumer survey data, now covering companies that account for over 40% of world usage
• More detail on potential new mines and their likely economic viability
• New appendices covering long-term trends in supply and demand and technology change
• Reporting on the big changes since September 2008 based on a visits to major producing countries in the last few months.

Price UK£6,000.
