Legislation and Regulation

Tin has made an important contribution to the development of society over several thousands of years since its first use in the bronze age. Today tin is also valued as a metal that is generally accepted to be non-toxic and it finds application in many environmentally friendly products.

However, growing public awareness and stakeholder’s demand for definitive proof from industry of environmentally sound manufacturing, responsible business practices and sustainable consumption and production patterns have more recently created both legal challenges and opportunities for tin.
